(FinalCall.com) - Fresh from a recent performance at comedian, author and radio-host Steve Harvey's Father's Day Mentoring Weekend in Dallas, Texas, Hip-Hop DetoxX refuses to stand still, letting grass grow under their feet. What is Hip-Hop Detoxx? Is it a performing arts group, movement, program or methodology?

It is all of the above, says HHD creator and founder Enoch Muhammad. Inspired by the uplifting message of empowerment and guidance given by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan during the historic Millions More Movement in 2005 coupled with his background as a hip-hop manager, promoter, artist and community activist, Brother Enoch a.k.a “N.O.C” is on a mission to send positive messages to teens and young adults through HHD.

“Our goal is to promote healthy lifestyle choices by using pop culture to empower and promote critical life skill behaviors designed to increase graduation rates, avoidance of criminal activities and premature conceiving of children,” explains Bro. Enoch.

Armed with a dedicated team of talented rappers, spoken word artists, DJ's and dancers, HHD has performed nationwide in hundreds of schools, youth groups, social service agencies, and church youth councils to critical acclaim. Featured in local media, HHD through hip-hop, talks to youth about a variety of important issues without condemning or sounding “too preachy”.

Mr. Harvey said he highly recommends schools, groups and even businesses bring HHD to present and marveled at the way the young people at his mentoring camp paid close attention to the unique presentation.

“On the Road toward Manhood”, “Real Talk All Female Session”, “No Butts, Blunts or Bullets-Just Beats”, “Righteous DetoxX” and “Check Up-From the Neck Up” are just a few of the topics and presentations HHD uses to inspire and teach youth that there are alternative and better ways to live their lives.

“I really do recommend (the) Hip-Hop DetoxX program to everybody man. I took a chance on it and I've had him back every year. If I were you, I would do the same because Brother Enoch with the Hip-Hop DetoxX is what it's all about,” said Mr. Harvey.

Hip-Hop as an art form is “THE” art form and communication vehicle for most youth in the U.S. and worldwide says Bro. Enoch. The art & science of using hip hop and pop culture is necessary if your mission is to get to the generations of the last 20 years he adds.

“This is one of the reasons why Hip-Hop DetoxX is effective; not only in getting the attention of teens and young adults but also in setting the context for the science of self-improvement to be nurtured,” says Bro. Enoch.

To continue their work presenting conscious and thought-provoking relevant material through rap to youth across America, HHD is partnering with Mr. Ephraim Martin, founder of the International African Caribbean Festival of Life in Chicago July 1 for a fundraising concert. HHD will be performing on the main stage at 7:45 p.m. at Washington Park on 55th and Cottage Grove.

In addition to Bro. Enoch, other artists of HHD will be lighting up the stage including lyrical mastermind Phenom, the poetic flowing rhymes of Awthentik and the lethal musical talent of DJ Arkitek.

The concert will feature guest performances by Grammy-award winning rapper Che “Rhymefest” Smith, Minianka Dance Troupe, dance specialist Mila with African Drummers and Mastermind Monday's Band. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at several locations throughout Chicago (please see calendar of events on pg. 35).

This fundraiser is not only a chance to help HHD to continue providing youth programs and services for the summer and fall but it is also an opportunity to bridge the gap between today's youth and their people from other parts of the Diaspora says Brother Enoch.
