DETROIT (Cobo Center)—In the book, “The Art of War,” author Sun Tzu writes that the first casualty in warfare is communication. Therefore, it is of great significance that the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan often states that “Information is Warfare.” This sense of urgency with how information is gathered, organized and shared was conveyed during the 2017 Saviours’ Day Ministry of Information workshop. The aim of the workshop was to inform, arm and execute high level communication across multiple platforms within the Nation of Islam.

“The direct goal of this workshop was to inspire attendees regarding how they can begin to contribute to the Ministry of Information and know we are making it a place where ideas are moved on,” said workshop moderator Troy 5X.

Workshop panelists consisted of various experts in the field of journalism, social media, video production, website security and online sales.

Richard B. Muhammad, editor-in-chief of The Final Call newspaper founded by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, reiterated that Min. Farrakhan hoped this year the paper’s staff and F.O.I. would expand the reach of The Final Call.  “As long as we stick to our niche, there will always be a place for The Final Call,” he said. He further clarified, “Our niche is the resurrection of the Black man and woman of America and all over the world.”

Jesse Muhammad, the social media strategist for Min. Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam, described the enormous worldwide impact on social media with the presence of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.

“Many of us don’t understand the magnitude of the presence of the Minister on social media,” he said.  Bro. Jesse offered how the Minister seeks to use the power of his presence on social media, stating, “He said we must change the level of consciousness on social media and that is exactly what we’ve done.”

Bro. Jesse further stressed that content and consistency is critical and that not one day goes by where the words of Min. Farrakhan are not being shared via social media. He closed by sharing how other media outlets are taking tweets from the Minister solidifying that we are now controlling the narrative.

It was announced that the very first Spanish online edition of The Final Call would be launched this year, and it would be spearheaded by long time N.O.I. friend and supporter Mario Rodriguez. Also announced was the Ministry of Information online conference set for April 2017.

The Nation of Islam Production team was also present to show the attendees four previews of their latest projects that consisted of video promotions, documentaries and commercials. The workshop concluded with a question and answer segment to engage those interested in joining the Ministry of Information.  Those interested should log on to JusticeOrElse.com/signup-ministries.
