Flooding hits Mississippi and Tennessee, state of emergency

The rising waters of the Mississippi river is threatening homes in Mississippi and Tennessee, with a state of emergency being declared in both US states. Large amounts of rain and melt water from winter snow have caused a chain reaction of flooding from Canada and the Dakotas through to the southern United States. Local Meteorologists predict that the flood could affect over 2,800 properties if it reaches 14 meters over the weekend.
