N.O.I Prison Reform Ministry
ATMORE, Alabama (FinalCall.com) - Student Minister James Muhammad of The Nation of Islam's Muhammad's Mosque No. 69 in Birmingham, Alabama delivered an inspiring message to the inmates at Fountain Correctional Center during his visit on December 12, 2009. His message centered on the topic “When Truth is Hurled At Falsehood.” Brother James knocked out the brains of falsehood when he explained how lies and deception keep us in bondage. If we want to be free and have our shackles taken off, then we must be willing to change, he said.
He explained that change is made by following Islam because it is Islam that prevails after everything else has failed us.
Then, quoting from the Holy Qur'an, Surah 13:11 where it reads, “Surely Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change their own condition,” he went on to explain that change does not come overnight. Sometimes we want change but, we become impatient with God and lose the desire.
Brother James pointed out that because of the lack of knowledge of self, we become ourselves victims of falsehood. When knowledge comes to us, we need to analyze ourselves, correct ourselves and then, we would see self-development and self-improvement.
Student Minister James continued his message by expounding on the true knowledge of the term, the “Lord of the Worlds.” He talked about how we are “the lord of our world.” He then explained the meaning of the word “worlds” and the meaning of “lord.” Master Fard Muhammad was not called lord but Master and He came to make us gods.
He then expounded on the differences between the law of man and the law of God. The law of the enemy says ignorance of the law is no excuse. God judges man according to what He knows, not the law He knows not. He then quoted Jesus as saying, “I came not to change the law, but to fulfill the law.” He explained that the fulfillment of the law is love. Where there is no law, there is no order. The reason the prisons are full is because we have lost love for self and have gotten out of order with God. We must have discipline and respect for the law, he said.
He said many of us continue to go back to prison even after being released, because we refuse to disconnect ourselves from a system that has disconnected itself from us.
Brother James said Black men must stand up and be men. A boy must be taught by a man to become a man. The enemy fears The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan because he makes men.
He then spoke on that which destroys the dignity and integrity of a man. When we turn to God and become the men he created us to be, we must turn away from what hinders our development. Allah created us to be thinkers and producers, but we have lost the creative brain power by lusting after flesh.
He said do not put God on the back burner by keeping them [the enemy] up front. We have a choice. We have to use our minds to distinguish truth from falsehood. In order to do that, our minds have to be in tune with God.
The next the day, the message by Student Minister James was the talk of the camp. Brothers talked about how clear the message was and fifteen inmates stated their intentions to join and learn more about themselves and Almighty God Allah.
