From Girl II Goddess

“You Are the Righteous, the Best and the Powerful,” was the message delivered by Sister Ava Muhammad, national spokesperson to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, in Detroit at the Charles H. Wright African American Museum, Saturday, June 6.

Speaking at the 1st Annual Closing Ceremony for the group, From Girl II Goddess, a non-profit self improvement program for adolescent girls 12-17, Sister Ava laid out the perfect blueprint for self-love, respect, and making good choices.

The “From Girl II Goddess Program,” was designed to teach knowledge and love of self, how to act at home and abroad, and how to tap into their “inner goddess” to encourage growth through self examination, self-analysis and self-correction. Certificates of completion and appreciation were given out to the girls for the 2008-09 semesters.

Participants and supporters of the “From Girl ll Goddess Program.”
Several students received the From Girl II Goddess 2008-09 Big Sister Mentor Scholarship, which tracks their teenage years through high school and into adulthood. Dr. Ledora Scott, principal of Parker Elementary, Detroit, and Dr. Stacy Muhammad, student director of M.U.I., Detroit, were given the “Hardworking Sister Award.” P.E.A.C.E., aka Claretha Muhammad, gave a powerful performance written for the honorees and guests.

Members of From Girls II Goddess who hosted this beautiful event for young girls were Sisters Mahalieka Muhammad, Mareshah Muhammad, Senita Muhammad, Lonora Muhammad, Deirdre X, Luciana Muhammad, and Akeya Muhammad.
