The Secret History of Masonry Link to the Youths in the Cave —Surah 18, verses 9-31

“Or, thinkest thou that the companions of the Cave and the Inscription were of Our wonderful signs? When the youths sought refuge in the Cave, they said: Our Lord, grant us mercy from Thyself, and provide for us a right course in our affair. So We prevented them from hearing in the Cave for a number of years, Then We raised them up that We might know which of the two parties was best able to calculate the time for which they remained.” –Holy Qur'an, Surah 18, verses 9-12

As my eldest daughter and son continued with me on our journey to the Holy Land, which included Jerusalem in 1975, we visited the important city of Hebron which houses the tomb of Abraham. The custodian of this holy place was a Muslim and as he extended to us a warm welcome, he uttered these words at the end of our tour in a prayer-like fashion, what we need now is another courageous hero like Saladin. Saladin was the last Muslim conquerer of Jerusalem who wrestled control of the city from the Christians during the Crusades in 1187.

In our Supreme Wisdom Book of Lessons, this history is referred to in the following manner: “… We took the city from the Devil about seven hundred fifty years ago.” The Muslims protected the rights and the places of worship of both Christians and Jews and were forbidden to trample upon their houses of worship by the moral laws and integrity of their Faith. The skirmishes and the war threatening the peace of Jerusalem and the Holy Land today has nothing to do with good Christians, Muslims or Jews, but rather to the political schemes of outside forces and governmental controls as crude and relentless as were the Crusades a thousand years earlier. At the time of the first peaceful conquest of Jerusalem by the second Caliph of Islam, Omar or Umar, the inhabitants of Jerusalem were treated with equal rights and justicewith Muslims and Jews living peacefully together. It was the warring Christians under orders of the Papacy who called for the invasion of the Holy City on the pretext that they were waging war against the infidels.

The Secret Societies of Masons or Moslem Sons came to birth in this hateful environment when Europe came into contact with Islam beginning in the 7th centuryfollowing the death of Prophet Muhammad, may the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him. Those who joined these fraternities or brotherhoods were sworn to secrecy or their heads would be taken off by the sword. Particularly is this true of the brotherhood who came to be known as the Knights Templar, in spite of all their good services rendered to the pilgrims during the Crusades and afterwards. Within two centuries of their work political intrigues persisted and they were persecuted and vanquished by political forces backed by the Catholic Church and were charged with heresy. They scattered primarily into the British Isles of Scotland and Ireland where their shrines and some burial places may be seen today. We will speak more about the Templars and their connection to modern Masonry at a later time. Piecing together this chronology of history facing off with our own circumstances of modern bondage in America today, we go once again to the masterful Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad as our Guide.

According to the Divine Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, there is a 64-year period that is left out ofthe timing frequency of the Gregorian Calendar which is based on the Black Man's first period of enslavement in America which begins in 1555 with the slave trader, John Hawkins. When adding this missing number 64 to 1555, we get the date that is generally calculated as the beginningsettlement of the slave trade in Jamestown, Virginia, in 1619. This was done so that the wicked slave masters would not know the exact time when their end or doomwould come because of their killing off of our first parents and elders who were Muslims. We read this in one of our Lessons which states, ... “I fast and pray, Allah, in the Name of His Prophet, W.D. Fard, That I see the Hereafter when Allah, in His own good time takes the Devil off our Planet.” We will note that there is no exact date mentioned. Might this missing number 64 be inclusive of the extension of time that is being given for our safe delivery through the Judgment to the other side?

This number 64 is also mentioned in one of our Problems, No. 11, which speaks of the investment that it took to build the Suez Canal in Egypt. The question is raised as to how much money the investor has coming to him from 1869 to May 26, 1933, which is exactly 64 years. It is interesting to note that this date, 1869, is the period of Reconstruction promised to the ex-slaves following the Civil War. In 1933, 64 years later, when our first set of Lessons became a requirement to study for all new registered Muslims and students,also corresponds to the exact date in the building of the Suez Canal. That year, 1933, was the year when Master W. F. Muhammad signed his name Wallace Fard Muhammad within a year of his departure in 1934. He removed the “D” from the name, W. D. Fard, that he used in his initial introduction of himself to us. In our coded Lessons a letter, number and word code in a mathematical formula and language was introduced to us in our first term assignment under our masterful, Divine Guide, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

By taking the signature date of our captivity in 1555 and counting backward we come to the date of 1492, the date when Christopher Columbus discovered America and found the Indigenous population of the Indians already living here in the Western Hemisphere. That date, 1492, also represents the spread of the European colonial powers to conquer the world, in both hemispheres, East and West. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad writes on page 104 of “Message to the Blackman,” the following words: “Muhammad set the devils back for 1,000 years. They were released on the coming of Columbus, and his finding of this Western Hemisphere. They have been here now over 400 years. Their worst and most unpardonable sins were the bringing of the so-called Negroes here to do their labor. The so-called Negroes have not only given free labor, but have given their lives on the soil of their masters and, all over the earth wherever his hateful and murdering slave-master wants them to go. Now, the slave wants better treatment. They are fast learning today, that these are the children of those who made merchandise of their fathers. The devil is the “devil” regardless of place and time.”

As we study the history of the White race and their existence on our planet for the last 6,000 years, we discover that perhaps the most profound meaning embedded in the secret ritual held within the Masonic Orders is that will one day they may be obligated to help in our liberation struggle for true freedom, justice and equality in the land in which we were enslaved. They, too, as we, have been looked upon throughout the centuries of their existence as being suspect of the peculiarities and rituals of a secret order that points to Islam as the Foundation Cornerstone of the American Republic. The full truth is yet to be Revealed!

“We relate to thee their story with truth. Surely they were youths who believed in their Lord and We increased them in guidance. And We strengthened their hearts when they stood up and said: Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth; we call upon no god beside Him, for then indeed we should utter an enormity. These our people have taken gods beside Him. Why do they not bring clear authority for them? Who is then more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah? And when you withdraw from them and what they worship save Allah, take refuge in the Cave; your Lord will spread forth for you of His mercy, and provide for you a profitable course in your affair.” –Holy Qur'an, Surah 18, verses 13-16
