I’m telling you sisters, you’ve got to walk with God in order to do what God requires of us today, particularly the women. You’ve got to walk with God. And Master Fard Muhammad wants to hold your hand, if you let Him. Him and the Messenger, those two love you more than any being has ever loved a woman. There has never been a God to love a woman like Master Fard Muhammadloves the Black woman in North America.”

“He said, ‘The M.G.T. & G.C.C.: I can sit on top of the world and tell everyone that the most beautiful Nation is in the wilderness of North America.’”—Minister Louis Farrakhan

Message to the M.G.T. & G.C.C.: Who Are You? 11/23/1991

DETROIT—For the last four years the Detroit MGT and GCC (Muslim Girls Training and General Civilization Class, the women of the Nation of Islam) have maintained a weekly supplication and prayer circle directly after our Saturday class.

Last year, we knew we had to trust and try Allah (God) and ask for something that only He could produce. We asked Him to bless us with 20 newly registered MGT to help the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. Not only did Allah answer our prayer, but in His Supreme Love for us, He blessed us with 22 gifts or helpers to present to the Minister at the Saviours’ Day 2020 convention graduation ceremony held Feb. 22 in Detroit to welcome newly registered members of the Nation of Islam.

The sisters in Detroit were inspired to register because we read words of guidance every week in the MGT Orientation and Processing Classes. The more we read his words, the more we were raised to life. Newly registered MGT Sister Raynell X stated, “I feel like a whole new woman and want to embrace more of this new woman I have become.”

Sister Missey Muhammad, student MGT Captain in Detroit stressed the importance of the women experiencing love, genuine concern and care when they visit Muhammad Mosque No. 1 for the first time. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan said, “You must understand your own nature, in order to develop self-mastery,” she explained. “A spiritual transition is serious, at times uncomfortable but also life-saving and life-giving,” she added.

Sister Jalisa X, also newly registered, stated, “I feel like my spirit is at home.”

This beautiful graduating class of women and girls in Detroit come from all walks of life and range in age from 16-78.

Detroit had three sets of sisters that registered including Sisters Tynnetta and Khadijah Muhammad (daughters of Sister Donna Muhammad); Sisters Alexis and Aaliyah Muhammad (daughters of Student Captain Missey and Brother Victor Muhammad) and Sisters Walisa X and Dreama X. We also had two daughters-in-law enter the class, Sister Jalisa X and Sister Stephanie El-Amin.

Each sister had their unique challenges but through prayer and work, they overcame great trials and tribulations.

One very special testimony is that of 78-year-old Sister Mozella X who could not read or write well when she first started visiting the mosque. She stated she was told on a few occasions, “you’re too old to learn something new” by those close to her. Yet she doubled down and was determined to learn how to “read, write and recite” to be a registered Muslim.

For 65 years, Sister Mozella kept the secret of having “difficulty reading and writing well” until she sought our assistance to help her so she could write her “Saviours’ Letter” and obtain her “X.”

That’s when we enlisted the help of Tarissa Muhammad, a literacy tutor, who used The Final Call newspaper and “Message to the Blackman” to craft lessons to teach Sis. Mozella how to read and write. Today, Sister Mozella tries to read everything she gets her hands on, mostly “Message to the Blackman in America” by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

“I would give her homework assignments after we finished a session and when I returned the next week, I couldn’t believe how much she had studied and retained what we had went over the previous week,” said Sister Tarissa.

While volunteering at the MGT Saviours’ Day Call Center to sell Saviours’ Day tickets, Sister Mozella would state, “All I want to do is help the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.”

Mary, Mother of Jesus

The Holy Qur’an, the book of scripture of Muslims, talks about the prophets of Allah one of which was Zacharias, who was “put in charge” or was the “guardian” of Mary, the Mother of Jesus.

The Holy Qur’an in Surah (Chapter) 3 verse 37 says, “Whenever Zacharias entered the sanctuary to (see) her, he found food with her.”(3:37). In her book, “The Women in Islam Educational Series, Book 2,” Mother Tynnetta Muhammad, wife of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad writes: “The Food mentioned in the above verse represents spiritual gifts and blessings which Allah always showers upon the Righteous in answer to their Prayers and Supplications to Him for right guidance upon the Path of Islam. The Food represents “spiritual joy.”

She also writes: “The Black woman, like Mary, has been chosen by God above the women of the world to be an example of purity and righteousness to the extent that she will inspire the Nations of the world toward true piety and righteous conduct.”

Surah 3:42 states: “And when the angels said: O Mary, surely Allah has chosen thee and purified thee and chosen thee above the women of the world.”

Sister Dreama X who is battling Multiple Sclerosis (MS) says she too “feels blessed and honored be one of the chosen ones from Allah, who came in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad and is truly thankful and grateful to Him.” Sister Dreama maintains an upbeat attitude and always smiles despite the tremendous amount of pain she is constantly in.

“I feel that Allah is about to call me to do wonderful things that I never could’ve imagined for myself,” shared Sister Crystal X.

All praise is due to Allah! We present 22 new joyous “Marys” from Detroit, who are striving to make Allah sufficient for all of their needs.

We thank Allah for Coming in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. We thank Him for the leadership and guidance of Sister Captain Missey Muhammad and the Orientation and Processing Instructors: Sister Michelle J. Muhammad and this writer and for all who prayed for our collective success.
