The Mathematical Code and Musical Notation

“So We made Solomon to understand it. And to each (of them) We gave wisdom and knowledge. And We made the mountains, declaring (Our) glory, and the birds, subservient to David. And we were the Doers.” —Holy Qur’an, Surah 21, verse 79

The discovery of the number 19-based mathematical code of the Holy Qur’an’s Revelation is accredited to the scholarship of Dr. Rashad Khalifah, who was born in Tanta, Egypt. I was in Phoenix, Arizona, when I first learned about this mathematical discovery.

What impressed me most was the fact that we were taught by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, according to his Master Teacher, Wallace Fard Muhammad that Mathematics is Islam and Islam is Mathematics and can be proven in no limit of time. It was in the month of January of the Gregorian Calendar date, which corresponded to the first year of the new Calendar change of the Arab Calendar, counting exactly 1400 years in time from the flight of the Prophet from Mecca to Madinah.

At that time, Dr. Rashad Khalifah was residing in Tucson, Arizon. A meeting was arranged, and thereafter my own research began on the Number 19, although several years earlier, I was introduced to the number 19 as a dating system and timeline discovered while reading the Holy Qur’an in 1977 or 1978.

It was destined that we would meet, and we continued to dialogue on this subject throughout the decade of the ’80s to the early 1990s, when he was assassinated while praying at his Mosque in Tucson.

I am reviewing this brief history, so that new readers may get some further insight on the fact that nothing happens by chance in life, and that each of us is a child of destiny, but we must study the signs of our own life’s journey in the search of knowledge and never cease in the attempt to increase spiritual consciousness and understanding in that pursuit, as it will add to the storehouse of Universal Knowledge and to community and global development.

Underlying my own discovery of this pattern in my life’s journey, there arose the musical expression of the Holy Qur’an’s Message, which was inspired by the Divine Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad which pointed me to the Holy Qur’an as the root of Muhammad and this second sequel of its fulfillment in today’s world. The proper use of language is everything and more importantly, thought is the carrier of the hidden mystery of God that shapes and forms us into new and evolutionary creatures expressing the Will of God and the abilities to create whole new worlds of Reality.

With this being said, I wish to return to our subject on the Sign of Solomon and the present work of reform and the restructuring of our lives and society. We will recall from earlier articles in this series that there is a missing Bismillah statement from Surah 9 until its discovery 19 Surahs later, in a letter written by Solomon to the Queen of Sheba, appearing in the 27th Surah, verse 30.

I made a reference to the date line of 1930, when the Master first appeared to the public in that year, announcing his claiming his lost tribe and people of the Original people in the wilderness of North America, who had served in servitude slavery for nearly 400 years. Upon choosing the Honorable Elijah Muhammad as His Apostle, the history of the Nation of Islam began its first stage of evolution and continues to this day under the Divine Guidance of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.

In the brilliant work of Dr. Rashad Khalifah, others have continued to make discoveries based on this Mathematical Code of 19. On my part, I have begun to decipher an underlying musical scale within the code that perfectly matches the exquisite melodies and harmonies exhibited under the Sign of Solomon, who was David’s heir—both of whom had been taught the Language of the Birds, which emits a higher or more refined sound frequency than the beasts of the field. Might this meaning be applied to the field of music, which is the highest expression of the universal language and spiritual consciousness?
