CHICAGO—The weekend began with the honoring of the Pioneers of Islam in North America as taught by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. It was Saviours’ Day Weekend 1999. It ended with the tens of thousands of Muslims—both young and old in the faith—assembled in the cavernous McCormick Place Convention Center cheering acclamation to the Honorable Louis Farrakhan, the man responsible for the restoration of that work, as he gave them "marching orders" for the New Millennium.

CHICAGO—Imam Warith Deen Mohammed, a son of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and a prominent leader in the Muslim world, was embraced with cheers, hugs and kisses Feb. 26 by the son of the Honorable Louis Farrakhan, other sons of Elijah Muhammad and 8,000 cheering Muslims at the McCormick Center during the Nation of Islam’s Saviours’ Day 1999 celebration.

Among the many blessings and privileges of my life was to witness the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, during the darkest days of his current ordeal. What follows are many of my impressions, not of his speech, but of a man, my Brother, whom I have known for 44 years, as he is engaged in one of the greatest struggles of his life. My Brother is struggling to overcome the forces of death.

CHICAGO—"The Honorable Elijah Muhammad once said that we must do what He (Allah) is ordering us to do. WASHINGTON—Coming out of the Nation of Islam’s Saviours’ Day ’99 weekend held here Feb. 26-28, the Honorable Louis Farrakhan and his National Board of Laborers outlined an agenda leading to the year 2000 that would address economic, political and family development issues.
