JERUSALEM - Israel's largest political party, Kadima, says it has shut down its Web site after it was infiltrated by Palestinian hackers.

Kadima says the Web site was invaded early August 6 and littered with inciting slogans and pictures aimed against it and its leader, Tzipi Livni. Ms. Livni's blog was also hacked.

Kadima says its internet team is working to restore the site.

Among images implanted in the site were those from bombings in Israel and of Palestinians wounded from Israeli operations in Gaza.

There were also slogans in Hebrew and Arabic such as “God will defeat Israel.” The hacked Web page was signed: “Gaza Hacker Team.”

Kadima won 28 seats in Israel's February election, one more than the ruling Likud. Livni is Israel's opposition leader.
