DETROIT, Mi. --Detroit and the world focused on the loss of the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, whose body lay in state at the Charles Wright Museum for two days, Aug. 28 and Aug. 29. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan sponsored 50,000 free copies of The Final Call Newspaper covering Ms. Franklin's death reprinted. Detroiters and fans of the Queen were met by smiling and spirited Muslims, the men of the FOI and the women of the MGT as they received their free copy of The Final Call. The special cover has no price and says, "Gift Copy," just as the Queen shared her priceless gift with us.
