(FinalCall.com) - Since its inception, Sister Space which is dedicated to the goals, accomplishments, concerns and voices of women, has provided an avenue for women from all over the country to give voice to the issues that affect them and their communities. This space is designed for women regardless of background, religion, education level, class creed or color. Sister Space has shared the achievements, the businesses, and thoughts and minds of talented women. The words and works of these sisters have allowed for self definition and beat back the lie they aren’t thin enough, pretty enough, or smart enough. We are pleased to present some of your expressions and thoughts about articles featured in this section and their value.

Black genocide and Planned Parenthood

Thank you for publishing the important article entitled “Black Genocide & Planned Parenthood” by Laila Muhammad. I was encouraged to read it and ashamed to say I was afraid to respond. But I do want to thank you. I have spent many hours praying with a few friends at a nearby Planned Parenthood facility and still I quake at how much these Planned Parenthood people love death and how powerful they have become. I cannot fathom the depth of wounding to relationships between men and women they have perpetrated.

Their products and philosophy and “service” have allowed girls and women to be exploited in ways only once dreamed of by the most diabolical amongst us. And made even well-meaning weak men, friends and family accomplices. It also is the greatest killing machine to ever satisfy the evil one that loves death. I thank Laila Muhammad for writing a brave article telling the truth about Planned Parenthood and you, Final Call, for having the courage to publish it.  Susan O’Dougherty

 Restoring Self and Family

Thank you for publishing my article “Misandry: The Not-So-Silent Killer of the Black Family.” Since writing it, I’ve decided to convert from Christianity to Islam. I am very excited about helping to rebuild our community. Like the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, I am deeply in love with the Black family. When I reflect upon what Sister Space means to me as a Muslim woman here in the wilderness of North America, I realize we have been force-fed cultural practices that have stripped us of our divine nature, which is godhood. So as we strive to reclaim what was lost, we must immerse ourselves with the truth about who we are. And as we discover that truth we must renew our minds into the thinking of God. But how do we do that? We study. We become acquainted with the thoughts of God through the sacred texts, but equally as important through the sharing of a godly culture. That’s what Sister Space does for the believer and the new convert. Maureen X Simmons

A Buying Black Challenge

I really enjoyed the article entitled, “A Buying Black Challenge” in the May 7, 2013 issue of the Final Call! I as well as a group of others in Huntsville, Ala., came together one year ago, May 12, 2012, and launched a similar challenge that we desired to implement nationwide. The framework of what we came up with can be found at www.threedayblackout.blogspot.com. A perpetual 3 day “Blackout” of our buying power which would be 10 percent per month and annually! This would drive enough funds back into our communities to make a real difference!

Please visit the blog. I brought this idea to the group gathered here in Huntsville after many years of contemplation as to what would actually be effective in our struggle for justice, economic independence and equality in this country. It was revealed to me by the holy spirit that the one thing that got the powers-that-be to even consider giving us equal rights was not Rosa Parks refusing to give up her seat on a bus one cold December evening but when that incident spawned the successful Montgomery Bus Boycott! It wasn’t until money was involved that anyone took our concerns as a people seriously! I love you and enjoy your articles immensely! Keep being the sister that you are Laila Muhammad and providing the knowledge that our people need at this critical time.   Cathy Edwards
