It’s time for a revolution!

(FinalCall.com) - The word revolutionary exudes excitement, sparks visions of black berets, clenched fists, defiant demands for power and passion for progress. I can see the kinky Afros, scowls and icy stares that frighten the oppressor.

Revolutionaries want action and want it now!

It is time to shake up the prevailing social order and show the ruling elite we are serious about wanting our freedom and ready to take it.

If you are ready for revolution take a little walk or get ready to march with me—berets and shiny black boots are fine.

March with me to the bakery at Salaam restaurant in Chicago and demand a loaf of bread. I need a thousand-strong to make a commitment to make that one-loaf demand every week. That’s right. If the French Revolution can be tied to Marie Antoinette saying starving peasants could eat cake, our economic revolution can be tied to “Let me buy bread!” This is no joke. It’s not meant to disrespect anyone or belittle our history. Revolution is defined, in part, as “a sudden, radical, or complete change; a fundamental change in political organization; especially: the overthrow or renunciation of one government or ruler and the substitution of another by the governed; activity or movement designed to effect fundamental changes in the socioeconomic situation; a fundamental change in the way of thinking about or visualizing something: a change of paradigm.”

We allow others to produce almost everything we need. We get nearly $1 trillion out of the economy and have almost been reduced to Consumers Only. Buying bread produced by a Black entity is revolutionary. The Nation of Islam-owned Salaam Restaurant and Bakery provide an opportunity for action. Buying 1,000 loaves a bread a week (and this is just my little personally organized brigade) would mean significant income for an independent movement devoted to the complete liberation of our people. Liberation movements aren’t funded by the oppressor, but exist through popular support and the backing of allies. But critical to the success of any revolution is the people struggling and working for their own liberation.

Buying one loaf of bread a week, we begin to lay a foundation for future expansion, training and job creation. It also shows our enemies that years of sanctions against the Nation won’t stop us.

Join me and send a photo with your loaf of bread to editor[at]finalcall.com I will post pics online and run some in the newspaper. After all we need to know where the soldiers stand!
