Interpreting China's Presence In Africa -- Through Scripture

Although I do not always mention it in business, I always have something of the Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad in my mind as I view current events. A recent example is a Special Report I authored for Africa PreBrief, “300,000,000 Reasons: What China Really Wants In Africa.” In the report I begin with two verses from the Bible: Acts 17:26 and Deuteronomy 32:8. Acts 17: 26 reads, “From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.” Deuteronomy 32: 8 reads, “When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind, he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel.”
Those two scriptures figure prominently in my mind whenever I consider variables in China’s advancing presence in Africa.
On June 13th an opinion editorial I authored, “What China Really Wants In Africa” was published in the widely read Asia Times (http://www.atimes.com/atimes/China/NF14Ad01.html). The original title I submitted was “A Neurotic Promised Land:What China Really Wants In Africa.” The concept of a promised land again, is one rooted in scripture.
Is Africa the or a promised land for any people? Is America the or a promised land for any people? Is China the or a promised land for any people?
Throughout history many different theologians, political scientists, economists, and anthropologists have answered ‘yes’ and ‘no’ to these two questions, in persuasive ways.
As a student of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, I take his words and those of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan regarding the Word of Allah (God) as my starting point to answering those questions.
Obviously, I don’t have enough space nor am I best qualified to properly weigh all that they have said and written on or related to this subject, in this space.
However, I should note that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad wrote of Africa, China, and America in very overt and clear ways and via his interpretation of scripture – given to him by Master Fard Muhammad – he seemed (at times) to veil, cover, or even ‘hide’ the fullest expression of the identity and ultimate destiny of these nations and others – including Russia.
On June 13th I discussed some of what I was thinking and conveying in my special report and Asia Times op-ed with Brother Barnar C. Muhammad, Online Editor of The Final Call newspaper. In reaction to what I shared, Bro. Barnar picked up the book Our Saviour Has Arrived and began to read pg. 52 to me. Then, he picked up Fall of America and read pg. 31.
In those pages, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad very carefully discusses the importance of the borders and boundaries of nations in relation to the size and movements of populations and the consequences of exceeding natural and even divine boundaries. He specifically mentions China and India and seems to be pointing to another group of people and land in his usage of the term ‘The Original Owner.’
Brother Barnar’s reaction and reading and further commenting produced a stimulating conversation of the value of Minister Farrakhan’s representation of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad’s Teachings as well as the value of keeping up with current events, always with the intention of laying them next to prophecies and the study of recorded history.
A verse that came to my mind as we spoke was Micah 4:4 which reads ‘Every man will sit under his own vine and under his own fig tree, and no one will make them afraid, for the LORD Almighty has spoken,” and 2nd Kings 18:31: “Do not listen to Hezekiah. This is what the king of Assyria says: Make peace with me and come out to me. Then every one of you will eat from his own vine and fig tree and drink water from his own cistern.”
Bro. Barnar and I see what we see about China, Africa, and America. Our sight is very limited. Witnesses of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan see more than we do. And of course Minister Farrakhan sees more. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad sees what he (Minister Farrakhan) sees and what he does not see. And of course Allah (God) sees it all and has given his sight of current events, circumstances, people and institutions to His Exalted Christ.
Then, there is the Government of the United States of America (and others) which has the benefit of the study of history, the use of surveillance and some understanding of prophecy. In one of his articles published in the 1950s the Honorable Elijah Muhammad wrote of where this is described symbolically in Revelations.
What does the United States of America – through its study of history; its use of surveillance; and its understanding of prophecy - see coming to her from China? In his book This Is The One, Brother Jabril Muhammad wrote of the arrest of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad by the FBI in May of 1942, “They seized his brief bag and made copies of all that it contained. They kept it for about seven months. Among the things they read – which many years later they saw come to pass – was the future of China. Let us recall, this was 1942. This government did not see that future. How did he?”
What is really at the root of the decision of the U.S. Military to move the majority of its naval operations into the Pacific Ocean by 2020?
Will America and China be engaged in some kind of conflict by then?
Has America already determined that military conflict with China is inevitable (and vice versa)?
Eyebrows were raised at the depth of the latest commitment of the United States Navy to the Pacific Ocean – a commitment which it now describes as ‘enduring.’ The U.S. Secretary of Defense—Mr. Leon Panetta—on June 1st explained the new strategy (http://www.defense.gov//News/NewsArticle.aspx?ID=116591), “By 2020, the Navy will reposture its forces from today’s roughly 50/50 split between the Atlantic and Pacific to about a 60/40 split between those oceans -- including six aircraft carriers, a majority of our cruisers, destroyers, littoral combat ships and submarines.”
All of this is in scripture.
