Interior of the house decimated
(FinalCall.com) - On February 10, 2008, a fire caused in part by a gas leak raced through the home of Public Enemy’s Professor Griff—the Minister of Information for the Black Nation. By his estimate, the fire, which is still under investigation, caused the loss of over 90 percent of his belongings including furniture, clothing, studio equipment, valuables and artifacts collected over the course of a 20 plus year career. As a lecturer and researcher he lost an expansive library collection of over 3,000 books, hundreds of CDs, DVDs and lecture transcripts he used as tools of his trade.

Professor Griff had just left Portland, Oregon from a speaking engagement he had the day before, and arrived in Long Island, NY for another speaking engagement. About one hour before he was to go on stage, he received a call informing him that his house located in the historic West End section of Atlanta that he just recently moved into was on fire.

As a result of his tremendous speaking schedule, he had not actually slept one night in the house and many of his belongings were still boxed up from the move in. Despite the strain placed on his resources, he is still honoring all of his scheduled speaking engagements as an example of the selfless truth warrior that he has shown himself to be.

He recently returned from Saviours’ Day in Chicago, and mentioned that many individuals offered him well wishes and helped him with financial donations.

When asked about his current situation, Griff did not complain saying to The Final Call “The Sun is shining and I still have life, so I’m good.”

Letters, cards, books, and donations in the form of checks and money orders can be mailed to:
