CHICAGO— The Nation of Islam’s Study Group on the city’s West Side recently reopened amid excitement during a memorable ceremony at a new location. Student Minister Ishmael Muhammad, National Assistant to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan was the keynote speaker at the April 27 dedication.   Minister Farrakhan sanctioned the reopening and longtime helper Brother Ibrahim Muhammad, has taken the initiative to help administrate and facilitate the meetings.

Brother Ibrahim, a student in the ministry for nearly 50 years is both exceedingly grateful and enthusiastic about the reopening, he said. He along with other participating Believers, will be speaking regularly at the Study Group meetings. Bro. Ibrahim said his first lecture is titled, “The Man and His Mission: The Raising of the Dead”. Meetings will be held Wednesday nights from 6:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 3745 W. Ogden Ave.

Reverend Helen R. Cooper, a good friend of Min. Farrakhan, offered her services in the mission by arranging use of the facility for the Wednesday meetings.

“We will do exactly what we did successfully in 1975—we went door-to-door, in the community with Allah’s guidance and inspiration and invited people to our homes to study the teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. Except this time, we have a building, Bro. Ibrahim told The Final Call.

Believers and guests are welcome to join the fellow members of the Nation of Islam to embrace the word in the community and establish an even stronger brother and sisterhood.

“I have been a minister for almost 50 years and with the help of Allah have built eight mosques, six in the Chicago area,” Bro. Ibrahim said.  “It will be one of the greatest mosques in history.” The Study Group is planned to be open for Friday meetings in the future. For more information, contact Bro. Ibrahim at (773) 675-1390.
