Just like others who may come into the Nation of Islam, Brother Tadar Muhammad’s, outlet was weed before rap. It was a way to let go of everything.

“That’s what’s controlling our people, too,” says Bro. Tadar. “The best teacher is the one who goes through all the trials, so I don’t regret going through anything I did. I’m able to teach the generation in front of me, because they don’t recognize what they’re in, but I’m able to recognize it.”

Born and raised in Chicago, Ill.,  the 20-year-old came into this world with a “silver spoon” in his mouth, as he likes to put it. That silver spoon was the “knowledge of self” because both of his parents were in the Nation of Islam when he was born and they were very active members. However, though Bro. Tadar had that knowledge of self, there was still a route that he had to take before finding himself and his God-given purpose. During his first year of college, he began to write poetry.

“When I used writing to express myself, that’s when I found out I had a gift,” he explains.

After discovering that gift, he tried to use rap to get money. He was well respected because he had a gift, but his desire for money was not getting him anywhere.

“I was rapping other than myself,” he says. “Even though I was a good rapper, I wasn’t grasping a lot of God. That’s not what Allah wanted for me. So I had to go through that trial and error, and also the trial of the lifestyle I was living.”

After going through that trial, Bro. Tadar fell away from it all. He came to a point in his life where he finally decided to become registered into the Nation of Islam.

“Honestly, I got registered because of a sister,” he said. “I tried to give my life to one woman. Due to that, I had to live my life righteously.”

Bro.Tadar  says he was also at a point in his life where he needed to find God, and that sister helped him to do so. “Even though God is in our face we don’t recognize him,” he explains.

Bro. Tadar loves the youth, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam. His lyrical prowess on the mic is unique and the brother has a mean flow. Yet he recognizes his gift has a purpose.

He is dropping an album titled “The Day of Requital” on October 7 and with the help of Allah (God), it will aid in his mission. Bro. Tadar says rapping is not about money to him – it’s about saving his people from the condition that they’re in.

“Please open up your minds and don’t judge the music due to the language,” Bro. Tadar asks of his listeners. “Don’t let the language take away from what is trying to get done and that’s getting our people. I can’t get our people if I don’t speak some of the language of the land.”

Through his different life experiences with his rap and the teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Bro. Tadar recognizes his voice can and is reaching out to the suffering youth in our communities.

“I have a gift due to Allah blessing me to carry out this mission, to get the 10,000 youth our Minister asked for.”

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan has a great deal of influence on what Bro. Tadar does and he loves and admires the Muslim leader greatly.

There are other young people like Bro. Tadar who have gifts, and want to use their talents in the mission of helping Min. Farrakhan. For those young people, Bro. Tadar has some advice.

“Dig deep within yourself and know that this gift is not self built, it came from somebody more magnificent, more all-knowing. Know that Allah is blessing you to be able to do what you do and see how he wants you to relay that message,” he says.

“All of our gifts are meant to be shown. It is not meant for us to keep it within ourselves. Don’t you want to show your new stuff off? The gift that Allah blesses you with, he wants you to put him in the forefront and show it off,” adds Bro. Tadar.

We really don’t always know what gifts and talents are in our youth do we?
