What's your opinion on this article?

This question, concerning the whereabouts of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, is a reasonable one to ask. After all, if he is alive, he must be somewhere.

Yes. I am aware of that other question—as well as some of the objections—many would raise at this point. We’ll get to that shortly.

Meanwhile, it is obvious that there are many of us, like the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, who are convinced that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad escaped a death plot. Furthermore, it is clear that our conviction is that he is still alive even as you read these words.

As we will show, despite the fact that there are billions of people on this earth, they are all profoundly affected by the state of being of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

On this matter the population of the planet can be divided into three groups. First, there are those who know exactly where he is—on a personal basis. Then there are the great majority, who have not heard of him. Therefore, such questions about him do not occur to them. Then there are the rest of us, who either know him or know of him.

Those who either know or know of him are in three categories. There are those who are convinced he is alive. Next, there are those who are convinced he is dead. Then there are those who are not sure.

The thinking of this group, regardless to which side of this issue they take, concerning his state and whereabouts, range from the very reasonable, to the unreasonable—including the ridiculous.

Now, it is not likely that a person who is alive could, or even would want to conceal his/ her whereabouts from everyone permanently. Of course, a person could get so far from others so as to become lost, and die in such a way so that none might ever locate his/her body.

Ordinarily, it is impossible to be alive and go, day after day, without someone taking notice of him or her—even if the person was going under a false identity. No one would make the effort required to totally conceal one’s existence, from everyone, without a very good and sane reason. Of course, if one was both insane and yet cunning or crafty, one might.

Now, in the case of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, he is either alive or he is not. He either escaped from a death plot or he did not. If he did not die on the 25th of February, 1975, and if he has not passed away between that time and now, it follows that he is alive right now.

Whether he disguises himself, from time to time—I don’t know. I doubt it. (I’ll explain this doubt later.) I do know he became a master of how to disguise himself long before he departed in 1975. He learned this art in the ‘30s while he was on the run for seven years.

Now, there are either some who know his whereabouts or none do. He will either make his physical presence known to “us,” beyond those who know where he is, or he won’t.

He is either with Master Fard Muhammad—whether he is physically in His presence every day or not—or he is not with Him at all.

He either is the Christ, of whom the scriptures teach, with all that this title indicates of wisdom and power, or he is not.

Additionally, if he is alive, despite any temporary setbacks, obstacles, and the combined might of all working to destroy it, the Nation of Islam will grow and prosper. It will become, as it is written in Daniel 2:35, a “... great mountain” and fill the whole earth.

Or as Jesus put it in one of his parables, the Nation of Islam will be as it is written in Matthew 13:31, 32: “... The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.”

So, we are in the situation, we’ve read of, in the book of Acts, after a few of Jesus’ followers— led by Peter—boldly declared that Jesus was alive, was with God, was in power, and was soon to return to earth to complete the assignments God Almighty placed upon him.

On the other hand, if the Honorable Elijah Muhammad is not alive, and not the Christ— from Allah, the Almighty God—the Nation of Islam, under the leadership of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan will soon crumble.

Given the prominence of Minister Farrakhan, nationally and internationally, and his ever growing following, the question, about the state of being and location of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, is reasonable, and legitimate. It helps in understanding his answer to my question, quoted in the first chapter of Is It Possible That The Honorable Elijah Muhammad Is Still Physically Alive???:

“Q: Do you think you would have come to the position in which you are without your having come to the realization that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad is yet physically alive?

A: Never, never, never could I have reached the point that I’m reaching, or have reached, and am still reaching right now, had I not come into that realization.”

It is clear that Minister Farrakhan’s view is that there is a fundamental and profound relationship between the state of being of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and his growth and success. So this question, of the state of being of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad is not only reasonable and legitimate, it’s also appropriate and essential if one is to understand the mind of Minister Farrakhan and those with him. And, we cannot understand these times without a proper understanding of the Nation of Islam.

My reason for raising the question of the whereabouts of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, at the beginning of this article, which if discussed, debated, and thought over, will deepen the national and international understanding of this crucial subject.

Hopefully, it will stimulate the deepest kind of thought and reflection about the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam.

Since I am not where he is, and, like most others, who follow him, I have not seen the Honorable Elijah Muhammad since 1974—my reason for and response to such question can at best only be a bearing of witness to that of which I am totally convinced is the truth. In so doing I am bearing witness to the truth which (1) I heard him say directly from his mouth; (2) that which he said the scriptures teach of him; (3) the testimony of others; (4) and that which I am certain is true and reasonable from what I have deduced from what I have heard, read and experienced, which tends to or clearly confirms the truth of which I am bearing witness.

Again, I must raise this question, and give my response, as I am a witness of the integrity of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and of his pronouncements about the state of being and the whereabouts of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, whom he represents to the world as the Messiah, the living Christ.

More next issue, Allah willing.
